An apartment complex in Richmond VA. I was hired by Spy Rock developers to create this 120 ft wide by 50 ft, (5 stories) mural on their parking deck. I chose colors that related to their exterior finishes and Great Blue Herons. This type of heron is native to Virginia and can frequently be seen flying overhead in the city and especially near the James River. The windows in the parking deck were a fun challenge. I chose to add rectangles mirroring this shape of the windows to create depth. It is as if the birds are flying in a world of rectangles. This was completed in 2.5 weeks with a crew of 3.
